I am 11 months post whipple. It was tough and painful the first 3 months. Little by little I'm getting better, still have a few symptoms but nothing like it was after I first came home. I believe the chemo slowed down the healing of the whipple but was necessary to eradicate any microscopic cancer cells. I've had 2 cats cans that were both cancer free. My next one is in July. I know it's going to be clear too. My best medicine was the dedication I had from my husband. He supported me in ways I never knew were in him. Take care of your loved one and take breaks yourself. My surgeon said don't read what's on the web with the exception of the Johns Hopkins site. He knew what he was talking about. Reports are not always based on the latest findings, don't look at statistics, put your energy into healing power mode. Feel the fear for a short period then give it up. It Will interfere with your ability to care for your loved one. I'm overwhelmed where I am today compared to 11 months ago. You will be too.
