But I want to tell you first - that what you describe does not sound like PC. It doesn't start suddenly like this, and these are not the typical persistent initial symptoms. First thing I wonder about is a food allergy/intolerance, which can develop later in life or other inflammatory bowel disease or infection or many other things...
So you haven't seen your primary care doctor yet for this? Why not?
Yes, call your primary care doctor today. But what you need to see is a gastroenterologist. Did the ER give you the name of one? Are you near a major medical center?
Hang in there. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids because if you are having diarrhea for months you could get easily very dehydrated. Watch what you are eating, and see if you can correlate your bowel issues with any food or type of foods.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
