Hi all.. Thanks for always being here. Posted a few weeks back about my mom having pancreatic cancer that metastasized to the bones and some lymph nodes. She finished radiation for pain to the bones, and then her first round of Gemzar/Abraxane 2 weeks ago. She was due to start her second round of chemo today but when my sister brought her, her oxygen levels were very low and her pulse was high. Her oxygen kept falling without assistance so she was sent to ER. They did blood work and CAT scan of lungs.. Came back that she has a mass in each kung as well as fluid at the bottom of each lung and in between lung and lining of lung. She was admitted and will see pulmonary Dr tomorrow and oncologist. She has lost so Mich weight in the last two months and is barely eating a bowl of yogurt a day. She is on anti nausea meds, appetite stimulant meds, fentanyl patch and spray, etc. Should we be keeping the hope, asking for hospice? In your experiences.. Is this the beginning of the end? I need to be semi prepared. Any experience and wisdom in this area is very much appreciated! Thank you.
