I was treated with Gemzar alone for 6 weeks right after my Whipple surgery. Right after that 6 weeks, I started my radiation. During radiation, they gave me 5FU 24/7 through an IV pump. I was on that for about 7 weeks and then switched back to Gemzar only for another 6 weeks. My cancer marker numbers dropped drastically and have been normal for over 4 years.
