It is so helpful, too, to get your take on Palliative Care. I did call PCAN for an information packet, and when my mom saw that guide, she said 'don't let your father see that!' with the understanding that this type of care only applies to the end of life. I think hearing this from you will be so helpful to seeking this care for comfort along the way.
Also, thank you for mentioning gastroparesis. I have started a food journal for my dad, recording what he's eating and any symptoms or discomfort he experiences.
He has also started taking the antidepressant and anti-anxiety medications prescribed.
I think that right now, one of the hardest parts is sifting through so much information and tips and diets and foods to avoid--you want to do every single thing all at once, you know? And then I remember this has only been a week and a half, and the amount of information we're processing is huge.
It is so, so helpful to hear about your experience with this and to get some
concrete tips that are so useful right now. Thank you so very much.
