My mother is on Gemzar to treat locally recurrence. Has anyone had a good response to Gemzar alone? Her CA-19.9 was 284 the day of her fist treatment. Will have it checked again in March.

8 year ago she was treated with Gemzar and cisplatin which allowed her to have the whipple.

We are so worried Gemzar won't be enough. She has heart issues now and no other chemo can be added.
