I developed severe reflux in early October with upper left quadrant abdominal pain, radiating to back and side. I have been on reflux meds since then and have had an endoscopy and colonoscopy(normal) and found some gastritis and esophagitis, but my upper upper left pain and side/back pain have not resolved. It is worse after eating foods with fat. The pain is different from my typical irritable bowel syndrome or reflux-it just feels weird sometimes. I had a CT scan with contrast that came back normal and am waiting on the CA-19 results. Just recently after eating a high fat meal, my stool turned soft and partially tan and appeared to have glistening areas of fat. I requested an MRCP from my gastroenterologists but he is reluctant to order. He said that PC usually presents with significant weight loss and since I have only lost a few pounds, he questions a need for further testing. My pain is continuing to increase. How do I get further testing and what testing would you advise? A better CT scan, an MRCP? An evaluation at a cancer center?
