Did you speak to the surgeon on the phone, who advised you to restart the lasix, or just a nurse? Have you re-started the lasix? What happened?
To suddenly have very severe edema and a swollen stomach so soon after surgery would also make me wonder if there is a a complication from the surgery so things are not draining as well. I would call the office again on Monday, and try to get in for a quick visit this week so they can see her...... Especially if this is very different from what your Mom had in the past. In the meantime, continue the lasix as directed.
If the swelling gets so bad that she is having pain/shortness of breath
etc... then try calling today. They should always have someone on call to
help. Meanwhile, keep her legs elevated to help them drain.
