I had a distal at JHH in December with removal of spleen for very small NET. I am now insulin dependent but otherwise fully recovered with no evidence of further NET. I do not regret the surgery and recovered quickly for an older man. I was told that only after surgery could a final diagnosis of type and size of lesion be made. I am by nature a gambler but suggest you err on the side of caution. The cautious path is to have the surgery.
