I totally agree with making sure you have a good gastrointerologist when dealing with PC. I think my wife could have benefited from this. The onco is focused on treating the cancer and while oncos that deal with PC know a lot about GI, it would pay to have a GI doctor to visit. I would go so far as to say, make your GI doctor your primary care physician during your PC treatment.

Omeprazole, or Prilosec (brand name) will be recommended. I don't think Prilosec helped Eve much. The downside to taking a lot of Prilosec is that it can cause diarrhea so watch for that and address the diarrhea asap because it will debilitate. Eve's main problem during her fight with cancer was pain in the pancreas area and back directly behind the pancreas.

Physical debilitation, malabsorption, malnutrition are very difficult to recover from so stay on top these and address them quickly.

My prayers are with you !
