My mother had the Whipple for an IPMN of borderline malignancy at the pancreatic head in 2007. She has had regular CT scans and blood tests as follow up. They have been unremarkable. However, starting last summer her weight went down from 53 kg to 45 kg, she developed diabetes (he HbA1c went from 6.3 to 7) and today her CA 19-9 reading was 37.3. We'll know the results of the new CT scan on Thursday. We are very alarmed. Is there anybody with similar experiences?
