Thank you very much Shelley. Eve was in the hospital all last week and the pain is now under control, see my separate thread about Pain and PC. We met with the surgeon today. Another CT scan was done by Duke last week while Eve was in the hospital. The radiologist again stated that the tumor is abutting the SMV by 180? So how does the radiologist at Johns Hopkins not see the same thing? Is the pancreas moving around and changing positions of the tumor?

Who knows but the surgeon decided to move forward with the surgery. We are now at the same pivotal point as all or most PC patients eligible for the whipple. The surgery is going to happen but if they get in there and see something with their eyes like too much abutment or involvement of an artery, they will back out.

So, for now we are just grateful that my wife is eligible to at least plan for the whipple procedure and all we can do is hope that there is no involvement of critical parts like arteries.

March 04, 2014 is without a doubt, the HUGEST day of my wife's life and mine !!
