So glad you checked in. I am not on the board as much as I should be. I think about you often and wonder how you are doing.

Dad is doing well. We just when through an almost fatal sepsis episode a couple weeks ago and it is taking more time than I had hoped for him to get back to his feeling good self but I do think he is on the mend. I have told him that from now on when he is not feeling well he will go to the doctor when I say go... His 'wait and see if it gets better' plan does not work well, it landed him in ICU, septic with liver function and kidney function labs out the roof. I could not get him to go to the ER until his blood pressure got so low I thought he was gonna die and I think he finally got scared he was going to as well. The doctors said the source of the infection was the stent. So thankful he responded to the antibiotics. I told him I will not lose him to an infection that could be treated as hard as we have fought this cancer to keep him alive and well.

His last scan at MDA in Jan showed still no METs and no new lesions in pancreas, the most of his pancreas is dead from the radiation. He remains off all treatment for a year now with no re-occurrence/growth of tumor. the doctors have never said he is NED but they really cant say how much of what they see is tumor and what is scar tissue. When he was in ICU 2 weeks ago they did a CT and it states NO EVIDENCE OF TUMOR in pancreas, but it does state he has some gastric varacies which I'm not sure what that is as we have not had that on a report before.

I can not believe it has been almost 21 months since that awful day of diagnosis and then all the doctors that followed that day that told us he only had 3-6 months to live, which I believe is all he would have had if we had not left here and went to Houston. Houston and I have had our differences but I have no doubt they are the reason we have had this much time.

Know I keep you in my thoughts and prayers always,

Shelley
