There really aren't any symptoms, they see them on a scan. EVERY PC patient who has had the Whipple should have scans that include the chest at least twice a year.

The most common place where mets will show up is the liver but I think the lungs are a close second, it's certainly not uncommon. And just from my experience on the board for the last 5 years lung mets are usually more controllable than liver mets.

Folfirinox and some of the Gemzar combos are a little more aggressive and thus more toxic than the single agent chemos like Gemzar or Xeloda, but like I said earlier I've been on most of them at one time or another and was able to keep a reasonably good quality of life
