My husband had a distal back in March, 2007. Followed by chemo/radiation for several weeks.

All going well until one year ago today when we found out it was back in lining of lung and a small nodule at the incision site.

So he was NED for almost 6 years before recurrence. Started gemzar/ abraxane March 2013 and he is again NED since September and off chemo since then.

Last scan was January 8th and next will be on 3/12.

My husband had a tough time with the chemo but endured. He had the port out last November so he could go hunting this winter. The doctors did not initially agree but they relented.

We treat at JHH and feel very confident that he is getting the best of care.

I was overcome by despair last January, but now we have some hope. I am reasonably sure that chemo is in our future but not today. He is out deer hunting today!
