Hello, is anyone willing to share the side effects of SBRT (stereotactic body radiation therapy)? It is similar to cyberknife as both are precise high-dose radiation treatments delivered over 5 days instead of several months in traditional therapy.

The problem is we've already had general radiation before in the same area after a Whipple eight years ago, so my niece still has gastritis and ulcers from general radiation. I'm particularly concerned with the SBRT radiation's effect on the duodenum. Even if SBRT is successful in killing the tumor, the body needs to be able to digest and absorb food to heal and get rid of the micro cancer cells. If SBRT damages the duodenum, this seems to be a high cost?

Thank you! Andrea
