so much can affect hair. just physical stress from surgery could do it. meds can do it, hormones or lack thereof can do it. I always hear about lack of vitamins causing it, but then I look at those pictures of starving people in Africa and they all have full heads of hair. So, to my thinking you would have to be really deficient in protein to cause hair to fall out. But more vitamins or biotin or iron could not hurt as long as your doctor thinks it is ok. Give it some time to correct itself and time may be what helps. I lost 20 lbs very rapidly and mine fell out in droves. It grew back but took almost 2 years. I was also having hot flashes so hormones had something to do with it. thyroid issues also cause hairloss. get that checked tsh, t3, t4.
