My name is Denise and my mom has begun the journey of being diagnosed with
pancreatic cancer, she was diagnosed originally on nov. 15 and confirmed on
Nov 22. The last few weeks have been a world wind of doctor appointments and
endless nights of taking care of her. My husband has become her private nurse
which is really funny if you knew him. Our lifestyle has been turned upside
down with her and my dad living with us. It is a hard struggle dealing with
her illness but also dealing with my dad. On her first chemo grating my dad
was brought by rescue and need a stent in his heart. So I was dealing with
her and the side effects and him trying to nurse him back to health. Although
I have a brother he has tried to help but he is sick as well. My daughter has
been a great help with adjusting her lifestyle to fit theirs. I can not thank
my husband for all the cooking, dishes and caring for my parents. He really
has embarrassed the vows we took 27 years for better or worse.
Today we celebrate my moms birthday. Of course my husband is busy trying to
please everyone. I hope and pray that mom will be alright after all of this.
She is having a hard time with chemo as well as the mental stress of worrying
about the cancer and my dad, May god bless her today as well as all of you
who are struggling with this illness.
