Having a reason to feel crazy is surely accommodated by a mate with cancer. You can also choose to feel exceedingly sane, do the right thing and stop feeling desperate. When you continue to loose yourself in service to your mate, you will continue to find your true self. Your true self is not crazy. It is loving, caring, patient and kind. Some of us are nuts to begin with, regardless of the condition of our mates. That's tough to swallow. Blaming our desperation on the condition of our mate is therefore a stretch. Also, some of us pretend that being a caregiver is harder than being the person with cancer. Let's get real here. I'd rather be a caregiver than have stage four pancreatic cancer any day.
