Does anyone know from experience whether having a stent for bile drainage precludes surgery as an option. We were told my mother is not a candidate for surgery and were pretty convinced of that, but now after hearing that people in her situation may actually have the surgery, we are looking for a second opinion. However she is scheduled for an internalization of a drain tomorrow morning by a stent. However if it is likely to preclude surgery we will postpone that procedure. I have a call into a surgeon, but would like to hear the views if others from experience.
