Thanks C'ville and Jonathan for this.

They couldn't biopsy or poke the cysts, so it's a 'wait and see'. He has already told the docs that he wants the surgery if it looks cancerous. He doesn't seem to have any of the other symptoms you have been talking about, although he is always tired. But he's got a lot going on, so it's hard to know.

It seems to me that if he was losing weight etc.. (like cachexia?) he should have obvious cancer somewhere, or at least more symptoms.

Thanks again. Sometimes it is hard to know how hard to push and when to hold back. You want to be aggressive, but you don't want your whole life to be dictated by fear.

Would still appreciating hearing if anyone else started with weight loss/weakness alone before the cancer was found.
