My surgeon gave me a run down of the statistics the first time we met, but never has said anything about me individually other than he likes my attitude and he thinks having a positive outlook and willingness to fight can make a huge difference for anyone.

Maybe for me at this point it's a bit easier to stay positive because almost 5 years since diagnosis and the last two years being at stage 4 I can always ask myself where I might be if I had given up in that first year. The answer is that I probably would have missed out on 4 years of what turned out to be some amazing living. Definitely worth fighting for and easily worth putting up with some chemo issues. I also found out that getting involved with PANCAN and joining the fight for ALL of us has been a great boost to my own mental state. I've learned that tomorrow is worth fighting for every time and it should not be taken for granted.
