Pancreas CancerSt. Louis area was posted 11/28/2013 10:40 am by Jonathan
A St. Louis based chemical company was doing some secret govt project
producing Uranium back in the '40's and then just piled hundreds of drums of
their radioactive waste uncovered and just sitting there in an unused portion
of airport property. by the 60's they were degrading and leaking into a local
watershed and tributary of the Missouri river called Coldwater Creek, this
went on for
@ 2 decades before any real clean-up effort was undertaken. This
particular creek ran through an area that was very quickly growing into one
of the most populated residential suburbs in the greater St. Louis area in
the 60's and 70's.
While there is almost no doubt that many were negligent the original parent
company has changed hands a few times, of course those who were at the helm
back in those times are gone now and like Art pointed out, proving a link
between the material and victims will be difficult. When you look at a map of
the St. Louis area and cancer cases among people of my generation they are
very evenly spaced around the map except one area of
@ 2 mile radius where it
is literally covered 2 times over with dots, each one representing a person.
I will participate to the extent I am able and believe that even though there
are now miles of red tape and insulation between those who might be
prosecuted and those who actually made those negligent decisions that there
are lessons to be learned still by corporate entities.
