I did not have a Whipple nor any cancer treatment of any kind, however my last period 'officially' was January 2007. I experienced spotting in July. 2008 and heavy bleeding for three days in May 2009. I went to my gynecologist and he did a transvaginal ultrasound as well as an endometrial biopsy. Endometrial biopsy was negative. Transvaginal ultrasound showed a fibroid on my right ovary. Nothing else. He said the bleeding could have been a hormonal surge which sometimes happens in menopause. Since May 2009 All's been quiet and I have my annual visit, Pap smear and transvaginal ultrasound showing the fibroid to be the same size as it was back then. Good luck.
