My surgeon said my tumor needed to be removed. It was large - 5 cm - and it didn't matter what it was, it had to come out. Biopsies are dangerous and are used to determine if something is cancerous and has to be removed or if it's benign and is not worth the risk of surgery. I believe he was pretty sure my tumor was malignant, but it still had to come out because of size. Hence, no biopsy required prior to surgery. Lots of pathology done afterwards by Dr. Hubran.
