Make sure your mother sees a surgeon and an oncologist who are experienced in pancreatic cancer and work in a large teaching hospital. There is a tendency to write off people who have PC, because it's considered hopeless and also your mother is quite up in years, which may be another reason not to treat her aggressively. Even if the cancer is inoperable, she should not discount chemo/radiation, if she is in good physical shape. This treatment has given me an excellent 10 months of life. Good luck.
