Good to hear they are doing the wipple on your sister. My mom was told she wasn't a candidate for surgery as well. The day she heard the news was horrible. Then later that week she had to go to her doctor to hear what they planned to do instead. They told her that they wanted to do a by-pass and maybe if her situation looked better inside than they had expected they would do the wipple. So first they said there is no chance of doing the wipple then they gave her 20 percent chance, the day of surgery they gave her 50 percent chance (yes or no is always 50 percent yes or 50 percent no) and finally after 6 hours of surgery they removed the whole @#$%!! tumor!!!!!! They told us they can never be sure how about a tumor looks like until they've looked inside. They thought the tumor was wrapped around the portal vein but finally it wasn't!!!!! My mum is doing great now except for backpain. She was on solid food in 5 days and came out of the hospital in 11 days. She is almost back to her normal live. She sleeps a lot but eats everything. I wish your sister all the luck and tell her to stay possitive, she is very lucky to get the wipple surgery!!!!!! Yvette
