Finally, I feel like doctors are on top of things for me. I had an ultrasound of my liver done today. They think what they are seeing is a "benign lesion". However, they want to compare scan images to my abdominal MRI images done 1 1/2 years ago. I'm so impressed on their thoroughness. I feel like I have a doctor taking me seriously. It feels good again to know I am in the hands of a doctor who is going to test and rule out everything. Why didn't the doctor 1 1/2 years ago really further investigate the liver through ultrasound when the report read "further evaluation of this "spot" can be seen through an ultrasound". I didn't have a doc follow through at the time. This sounds like it will be nothing to worry about...thank God. The peace comes from knowing that the spot on my liver all this time is nothing to worry about. Why is like pulling teeth to get some doctors to do what they're supposed to do? The colonoscopy will be done I think. I would like to wait until after the holidays but I don't know yet what the docs plan is. I like it best when I have a doctor that works with me..not against me. It feels like I'm on a team again....praise God! Just babbling I guess. Have I ever learned that you have to steer your own ship when you go through any kind of illness and have to deal with doctors for something more than your common cold. Don't get me wrong, we couldn't live without doctors...but we do need to trust and believe in our instincts and listen to our bodies because WE know them the best! Lisa M.
