Hello to all the brave fighters and strong caregivers on this board!! I am wondering if I could get some suggestions on pain management from all of you experts! Mom- diagnosed mar/April 2010-whipple april2010- gemzar may-nov 2010. Johns Hopkins vaccine dec-June 2011. Reoccurrence July 2012-aborted surgical attempt August 2011 due to liver met. Sept -current 21(and yes I mean 21) treatments of modified dose folfirinox. (breaks for holidays only) recent scans show liver mottling and increase in size of pancreas tumor. Pushing against stomach lining and encapsulating several arteries-(mesentric /splenic). Numbness in ankle and leg and extreme pain. Currently our small rural vna/hospice team has her on methadone 5mg/am and 7.5 mg/pm along with 1mg of morphine sulfites per hour as needed. Doesn't seem to be cutting it... Anyone have Any suggestions as to what meds may be more effective??? I truly appreciate your help!!!!! Erica-Pa
