I read the article and what Dr Yeo said. Although I know he has a wonderful reputation as a surgeon, he turned my husband away last March - saying that it was a 'terrible diagnosis 'but that the tumor was not operable. He essentially turned us out in the cold without any real hope. Fortunately, we did not accept what he told us. After seeing 3 more surgeons and several oncologists, including those Yeo recommended at Jeff, we found the right combination for us. Joel had 6 months of chemo which shrank the tumor and then a successful whipple in November 2012. I share this information because I think it makes the point that there are no absolutes in treating PC. Patients and their families really need to do research and keep asking questions. I only wish there were a better clearing house for information. It seems as if each patient has to reinvent the wheel to find the right doctor for surgery, chemo or whatever.
