Denis, I am so sorry that your wife is so ill with young children. As others note here, it is important for her comfort in the treatment process to have a doctor who can help deal with the side effects and help her be as comfortable overall as possible. I assume you know the Ascites can be drained, though not sure who determines when. Does your wife have a supportive doctor of therapist to deal with any mental health issues as this can be very important? You have and will have a lot on your plate so it may be important for you to bring up this aspect of your health with your PCP. Prayers for all of you in this tough journey.
