I have recently undergone a cyaliac-plexus nerve block recently (excuse spelling), and from what I understand it is a very unusual technique. However, I am still prescribed morphine, but in reduced quantities. The block reduced the pain level by greater than 50%, and is said to last up to 6 months (maybe) Pain is better, but still need morphine as a secondary measure. would like to hear more (antstraw @ix.netcom.com)
