My PC has recurred after 10 months (inoperable, treated with 5FU/radiation), so I'm in a similar position.I don't understand your father's diarrhea. Has he had pancreatic enzymes? It's worth a try. Also, fats and milk products often cause diarrhea in PC. I found that macrobiotic diet is easy on the digestive system, but very low calorically, so you can't possibly gain weight on it. You can find current clinical trials at: http://clinical studies.info.nih.govUnfortunately, Gemzar often doesn't work and I understand the malignancy becomes resistant to 5FU, if it was already used. Staten Island University Hospital is using stereotactic body radiosurgery. You may want to contact them to see if your father qualifies. Dr. Leiderman at 800 285-4584. I've never heard of PPD 4. God help your father and you deal with this horrible disease.
