Cyn -- It wasn't me who posted the message you're referring to, but my dad (diagnosed 1/00 with mets to abdominal wall and lymph nodes; he died 11/16/00)did Gemzar for about 3 months and then, because the doc wasn't completely satisfied, he did two rounds of 5FU in the hospital (four days, then a three-week break, then four days). After that the doc felt the two drugs were working about equally, so he went back to the Gemzar for several weeks (as it can be administered in the office once a week) before stopping. Don't know if this'll help or not. 5FU, I understand, was the primary chemo drug for pancreatic cancer before the introduction of Gemzar. Tina
