My dad had his whipple in July and is finishing up his first series of Gemzar. I just got to visit over the weekend and he is doing great, but his diet is still not great. He says he's hungry all the time. He's not taking any creon because 'it's too expensive' and 'the doctor said I should be weaning myself off of it' -?!? The constant hunger seems to mean that he's not getting good nutrition and I'm thinking its due to the lack of dietary enzymes. I've never heard the 'wean yourself off of creon' advice - is that normal or perhaps he misunderstood?

Just wondering...
