I've posted before about not getting much info about a family member. I am not sure if it is intensional, or if those 'in the know' just don't understand what is going on. In any event, my loved one has been stage 4 for nearly 4 years. Recently started having trouble with fluid build up to the tune of 20 pounds. Had it drained. I was told it was due to blood clot. Now I'm being told it might not be blood clot and it might be dur to tumor growth. I also just learned they have not had chemo for months, and are now turning to Radiation to shrink the tumor that may have grown and caused the fluid build up. What is going on? Is this bad? Is it common to use Radiation to shrink tumor and hopefully get back to a chemo plan? What is the cause of the fluid build up? Thank you.
