Pancreas CancerNot exactly...but was posted 06/03/2012 10:42 am by Jonathan
I have thought about the reality that I will probably die from this disease
and it will probably be long before what would otherwise be my normal
lifespan. At times during my journey I thought that reality might not be more
than a few months away and other times I felt it would be years away. The
truth is that I don't know. For me the important thing is to use whatever
time I have left to the fullest I'm capable, obviously during chemo and some
of the other treatments my capabilities have been somewhat diminished. During
those times I still correspond with many other patients, survivors and
caregivers, I like the thought that I may be of help to them in some small
way, I know it helps me.
I don't have a 'bucket list' per se, but I do look for opportunities to have
experiences and make memories. I think a list of what I could do for or
acquire for myself is aiming way too low. I find that setting goals and
working toward what I can do for others is much more gratifying than trips or
trinkets I can get for myself.
I know that Sherrie and you have been so helpful to many people here, you
both have become sort of a role model for me. You both seem to be very
focused on not only fighting Sherries cancer but sharing the experience and
knowledge you have gained to help others. Whatever the future holds for both
of you I hope you realize that you've made a difference in many other peoples
lives and journeys with this disease.
