Mom is not diabetic. Her blood sugar levels are around 130-150 and her doctor has not offered any treatment for diabetes or a blood sugar monitor. The problem with this is now mom refuses to eat carbs or anything with a sugar content. I have already had the dr discuss with her that now is not the time to baby her pancreas.....but, to get all the nutrition she can. However...if I put a baked potato or a popsicle in front of her she'd freak out and act like I'm trying to kill her. I've tried and tried to explain that everything in moderation is ok.

Since diabetes seems to go hand in hand with the whipple surgery...do you think she is making a good decision by avoiding those types of food? Or should she be enjoying them while she can?
