When you have a group of employee's and not individual policies, that is what the cost is. That is a big problem for small business and why many if not most are now requiring employee to pay part of it.

I have checked various options which will reduce my cost and increase the employee cost and I opted to stick it out another year. My plan is the best one I can get and the deductible is $ 250.

I also have dental that I pay an extra 70. per month on for them.....we have been stuck with HM for a while now because of the chronic illness of several employee members and not wanting to harm them and their care.

I am not saying $ 1,000 is easily afforded, just that it is fairly low for what you get and you could never get that with a group plan.

I have personally found UPMC and specifically Hillman a good choice for Sherrie and we now have a long standing relationship with all those who care for her. They are open to working with us and listening to our suggestions and ideas. They also have had us talk to and help others go to Basel for treatments.

When we first started here in Pittsburgh, we spent several hours at AGH with 2 Dr's of Oncology because I know an executive who arranged it privately. They suggested that we stay at UPMC as they said they could in no way offer any additional treatment and had zero exp. with NET's.

I am glad MD has worked for you and we looked at them but for NET's, I would never go to MDA ( I know a few here are completely satisfied with them ) yet for other types of Cancer, I would never go anyplace else.

THoughts and prayers, Michael-PA
