Pancreas CancerOH! Not what I was expecting! was posted 03/30/2012 01:57 pm by Anonymous
I live in Greensburg and this is on the front page of the paper today. I
thought this was more about the claims processors and how basically these are
the frontline people who pay or deny claims. My sister did this for 10 years
for Chubb Insurance in NJ and the rule was ''when in doubt kick it out''.
That if you weren't sure don't pay a claim. But my sister is a compassionate
person, we were raised by example by my mother and father to be like this.
Our mom died of PC 2 years ago. My sister paid all kinds of claims that were
supposed to be denied, sent back for more evidence, etc.. If she denied one
and the person called and talked to her (they had her full name and
extension) she usually authorized the payment then. She got to know people
on a more personal level and knew there economic struggles as they were
drowning in medical bills. And she knew the insurance company was stinking
wealthy and the people were coming there for help after being paying
customers for years.
As for the situation in Pgh. with the clowns who run Highmark -- they should
be frickin' ashamed of themselves. UPMC and Highmark are in a war and the
people will lose. That's all there is to it. It makes me want to sell my
house and pack my bags and move to someplace that's not so insular and has a
wider breadth of sight and knowledge. The problem is I don't know where that
Oh, and I just mailed a check to Highmark yesterday for nearly 1,000 to cover
insurance for 3 people for 1 month.
