My husband actually became jaundiced before they found the tumor. It was the jaundice that prompted the docs to jump and schedule the ERCP and then the Whipple. The tumor was tiny (I believe 3 mm) and it was very difficult to spot on a CT scan and even after the surgery, everything was removed but 9 of the 21 lymph nodes removed were hot. Of course, this is never good. However, it is March of 2012 and he is still here -- for that we are so blessed.
