My husband had the whipple at the Cleveland Clinic in August of 2010 -- clean margins, removed all signs of the tumor, he is not NED but he has PC -- my husband probably should have had the chemo prior to the surgery but the CT scan, and the ERCP showed little if any indication of the tumor -- it was not until my husband turned jaundiced that the docs scheduled him for the whipple. It was very successful but unfortunately my husband had mets to the lymph nodes -- so this is why he is still battling the beast with chemo. I do agree though -- that if you are able to get to another place that specializes in PC (JHH, Mayo, MD Anderson,) I would definitely do so. Good Luck to you.
