Anonymous, my husb was not doing well performance wise since the first of 6 procedures(5 were ERCPs)due to pancreatitus and trauma from these procedures done at Mayo, not so much the mass even though tumor is large, until recently. We went for a 3rd opinion to Holden Cancer Ctr. at Univ. of Ia. and had the good fortune to meet Dr. Joilie (sp) who was wonderful and turned things around for him. Anyway, he is feeling so much better but it was felt that since Ia. City Dr. is an hour away and only in clinic one day per week that Hospice would be more helpful but I'm not so sure. Will discuss with Dr. tomorrow. After Mayo, the chemo Dr. in town said husb had 2 mo. to live and no chemo. When my husb gets better after Ia. City fixed his stent, etc. I want to go back and show him why we went for that 3rd opinion...thank God we did!! We have been thru so much I know this is all hard to follow...sorry! I hope I have not confused everyone.
