Why is your husband in hospice care already? Does he have other health issues? My mother was diagnosed with locally advanced, non-respectable PC in Dec 2011. Her first stent was replaced after one week because it moved and became blocked. She just finished her first week of GTX and is doing well. Doctors at JHU, NYP and a local onc are hopeful she will get 2+ years of survivability, even if the tumor does not become operable. I am a realist and think that 2+ years might be stretching it; however, we are not giving up hope just yet. If you cant make it to JHU or another well known facility give the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.com) a call. They can provide you with a list of doctors that specialize in PC in your area.
