I will tell you that my husband was 2B in August of 2010 -- he was on gemzar then gemzar and radiation and then he was off for a little while and they found the cancer metastasized to his lungs -- so the gemzar was no longer effective. After we found out about the mets -- my husband was on 2 treatments of folfox then switched to 4 of folfirinox then took a little break -- and will go back on folfirinox on Monday -- maintenance plan. My husband is now Stage IV -- but has a good quality of life. This cancer is a beast and can show up at any time -- that is what we have learned. We do try to stay one step ahead and we are always researching and asking questions.
Again -- it will have to be your choice - hopefully someone can comment on Protocel. Good Luck to you and your family.
Hugs.
Everyone is different and everyone reacts differently to treatment. It is
your parents' choice as to the path they follow but the more information you
have -- the more help it will be to make a good, informed decision.
