Can someone help us? My husb finally after 2 1/2 mo. of being in misery due to two stents placed that were not working with sx of high bilirubin is now a candidate for Gemzar. He just recently received a 3rd stent that was placed in between the biliary and duodenal stents that were collapsing and this ended his misery of constant itching, nausea, etc. He was happy about being to this level and felt positive about starting low dose of Gemzar but the Hospice nurse that we are starting with is sooooo negative about chemo that we are now feeling very uneasy about it. He has been through hell since pancreatic ca. locally advanced/nonresectable diagnosis mid-Dec. but now is better in many ways but has lost 25lb. Chemo CAN give him a CHANCE or HOPE of more quality days/weeks/months RIGHT? Please someone talk to us.
