I'm a 6-1/2 year post whipple survivor (adenocarcinoma 2 cm tumor at the head of the pancreas 2 node involvement). When I was offered chemo and radiation I didn't even hesitate. I thought of it as a way to ensure that every little cancer cell was destroyed. Who knows where those cells could be hiding? I understand that chemo and radiation is daunting but it really wasn't that bad. I had one month of radiation and 5/FU (chemo) once a day during the first and last week of radiation. I then followed up with 4 cycles of Gemzar (100 minute infusions) once a week for three weeks one week off for good behavior and repeated three more timees. Outside of feeling cold and extremely tired, I lost some hair but not even enough to wear a wig.

Granted, everyone is different but I never regretted this decision.

My prayers are with you.
