Hello all. My dad (60 yrs old) was just told he has a mass on the tail of his pancreas. he did not take the news well as my 'aunt-in-law' just passes away from pancreatic cancer. He has an appt with the endocrinologist on Tuesday.

He originally went in for symptoms of diverticulitis. They did a scan of his torso and by chance found the mass. the dr told him the diverticulitis and the mass are two different issues...

If i remember correctly the mass is either 2 or 4 centimeters... he shows no symptoms of the mass.. no diarrhea, no pain, no loss of appetite, etc...

I'm not sure what to expect... The endo will do tests of his own? or they will remove it regardless? are these masses always malignant?

Just looking for some info..

thanks, mitch.
