I had a strange experience today with our doctor at Sloan. She doesn't believe a patient should have a colonoscopy, endoscopy, 'regular testing outside the cancer scope' while a patient is in the treatment phase for PC. I don't understand that. He hasn't had chemo since march and all his scans and blood work are normal. He has some trouble swallowing but has a 20 year history of having his esophagus dilated because of a benign stricture. Just curious, did anyone else have run into this? What would the reason be not to have a routine colonoscopy, endoscopy or heart workup 9 months after your last chemo treatment? Left me with a bad feeling.
