Lisa, My mom's early symptoms were a lot of indigestion and nausea/vomiting. In her case, they discounted gall bladder and bile duct because she had heart issues, so every time she had one of these spells in the 12-14 months prior to diagnosis, they screened her for a heart attack. I should add, she had no pain, just relentless indigestion and these vomiting attacks that were very bad.

Finally, someone in the ER said they better check her gall bladder and decided it needed to be removed. They removed it and she did not recover well, continued to have nausea and then became jaundiced. Her tumor was a Klatskin Tumor at the bifurcation of the left and right biliary ducts. Her diagnosis was difficult because at that time in her illness, she didn't have a tumor that was recognizable on any scan, just a closing of the duct from the scar tissue the cancer formed. They likened it to 'sludge' forming in a garden hose and plugging it up.

I hope this helps in some way. If you want to have a conversation on our private e-mail, let me know and I would be happy to discuss more details with you.

Best to you, Nadia
